posted new ad layouts for acoustic, banjo, and electric guitar tabs pages. See if there is a difference in the click through rate.

also the harmonica tabs page started doing well in the ranking and getting about 200 page views yesterday on 8/29. Most of the traffic is coming from people searching for harmonica tabs on Google.

Since we were not generating many sales from the tab pages we've decided to experiment with Adsense to capitalize on the traffic that they receive. So I added ads to the following pages today and noted their traffic for Tuesday Aug. 16th. I will begin to try and attract traffic to these sites again starting today

all of these search totals seem to be way down since I used to look regularly. I may start using the Overture tool. Overture is a bit broader match and includes plural and singular terms together.

for guitar lessons they have 1950 a day and for fgl they have 444. 87 for violin lessons and 194 on drum lessons.

So even though are sales have dropped overall since X-mas season in general FGV sales increased because of traffic. This should keep up all year round because it appeals to more of the serious guitarist rather than someone just picking up the guitar for the first time or someone buying a second book after purchasing one of our others.

here is a link to our chicken pickin video. It's from an ez board message board for Martin enthusiasts. Someone found the link on a Chet Atkins message board and posted it there.

more traffic from music thing

so musicthing found a second video of the guitar superdork video. Thus they linked to their last post about it which had the link to our guitar tapping video. The big difference this time is that Music Thing is one of blogger.com's featured blogs this week. So I'm assuming they are getting a lot more than their usual bit of traffic.

So as a secondary post they still sent 517 people to our site yesterday. The whole week they originally linked to us they only sent about 1,000 visitors. So apparently getting your blog mentioned on the page that everyone sees when they log in to their blogger account is a big deal

also this guy apparently has linked to all of the lessons from LJ Rock and Blues

another person linked to the site mentioning "Guitar tutorial or guy flipping everyone the bird?" which is pretty funny considering I was thinking the same thing while filming the video.

this one's actually pretty cool. This site uses bloglines to show the latest entry from several different blogs right on their site. So down towards the bottom of the page is says Music Thing with an arrow next to it. When you click it expands to show the most recent Music Thing post which happens to be our friend superdork. So thus our page shows up as a link.

from 6/1-6/17 11am we had 198 orders of those 47 were reorders (24%). Of those 47, 25 were the result of the Fakebook, MP2, LJ5 & LJ6 emails. So even without the emails we had 22 reorders (11%)

26 upsales on those 198 orders (13%)

60 customers bought at least one companion book and dvd/video to receive the package discount on their order. (30%)

-on the global footer I'm removing non-guitar links to CVLS: drum lessons, violin lesson, bass guitar lessons, harmonica lessons, guitar lessons products (guitar-lessons). This affected 96 pages.

-changing the link for guitar on all the nav bars from guitar.html to guitar-lessons.html which is optimized for "guitar dvd". This affected 99 pages.
